The Love Story of A Lifetime

If it is your time,
Love will track you down like a cruise missile
..Lynda Barry

managed to read a novel; Vince & Joy by Lisa Jewell. now writing on, much likely to be the review. another chick lit on the romance side, this book appeared enjoyable. musn't say i love it, neither will i detest it. remained monotonous on my side. i figured i need more quizzical fictions, rather than predicted happy ending. still, my attempt to read on classical, succumbed!

anyway, it is a story on two late-bloomers; Vince & Joy. i applaud on the beginning, very nice touch. excites you to the next storyline. the progress however ascending been told in drag. too in-detail. Jewell managed to steal my attention towards the end by writing a story that isn't any ordinary American love shots. in a sense that, the drama-rama went on quite mixed up.

Vince met Joy on a summer vacation, both were with their parents. Joy was recovering from mental distraction, Vince on the other hand was looking on to be breathtakingly taken away. they made a nice pair, knew each other, made love, and was separated the next day. Vince thought Joy felt ashamed of their encounter the night before. they didn't part well. they moved on, but nothing seems right. (this is when, i started to get bored). Joy married George, Vince married Jess, like all Americans, they lived typically. then suddenly rekindled pasts, of definitely mates' help. so on and forth, you can actually figure what goes next. the ending however, should be told more. since it appeared to be a happy ending, why not share more? im a sucker with happy endings. who doesn't? go die. Jewell did wrote at the very last line 'The Beginning'. well yes, their beginnings, but not ours. all around, simple yet something to ponder upon.

i must say im agreeing with what Lynda Barry thinks. we shouldn't haste over finding love. adolescents surfaced most, it annoys seeing people desperately looking for that utmost soul mate. give it a rest, breathe and think on, when one rush on it, surely one will not find true love. one might, rarely, obviously always in movies. this is real life. perhaps im speaking on one who isn't in cloud9 shoes. might turn different when im in the air. but, let's just not haste it. be not desperate please. give more, share what you've got. never stop believing.

and as for me, January is ending. February looks well, shaky. hoping to regain full-health, not to fall sick, concentrate more in class (Agama especially). i dropped co-curricular activity. focusing more on academics this semester. instigating to see the path, yet to be written. besides being serious, surely i do not failed to be frantic. one & only way to anti-depress. and fortunate for me, to have crazy people around. they silly'ly let me sigh effortlessly. oh god, i've turned strictly boring. i write so serious, i feel like puking to myself. geee people, figures do straightened that humor side in you. yikes!
