Syawal. We welcome the joy annually. A month of blessing, a month of thrill, not only Muslims enjoy its arrival, yet those who appreciate are enthralled. It begins with the takbir, "Alllahuakbar allahuakbar allahuakbar". That notches the beginning of Syawal. Her eyes. they taught me Syawal. They sunk my heart in engrossment. They were wet in lament. All these years, Syawal meant plain excitement, not trouncing gift by Allah to me. But it turns completely just by looking at her eyes. This Syawal means a lot.
She was no different, a girl of 15 years. With 2 brothers & relatives. But she has no parents, they died. Few years ago, her father. And recently, her mother. They were shattered; her hopes, her dreams, her laughter. She knows now and forth, she will be longing for love none can replace. I saw the will to live, through her eyes.
Always, there are less fortunate than we are. We know that by fact. We never realise how true the fact is. During Ramadhan, we were busy getting new clothes especially for ourselves. They on contrary, were busy getting ends meet. Hoping to survive until Syawal. Only to discover it bleeds then.
It is the most anticipated month. It gives more meaning when Syawal is celebrated with them, who are more or less, thrilled than we are. Brighten up their Syawal. Their smiles define countless joy to your Syawal.
Syawal is not just about you. It is about how you share your bliss in sincere with the rest of the world. Allocating bits of your glee without hesitating, simply is pure compassion. Of God's benevolence you will be blessed.
